How long will it take to get a quote, and how much will it cost?

We will work to get a quote for you as quickly as possible. Timing depends on the size of the account and the amount of information needed. The quoted rate also varies and is determined by the insurance carrier based on their rating system.

No, BKCW is your insurance agent. We will take your coverage submission to the market, where insurance carriers will evaluate and rate your risk based on the information provided. Pricing, coverage, claims, and all other policy matters are decided on and dictated by the insurance carrier.

BKCW works only with standard top-rated carriers: AM Best A-, Moody Aa3, Weiss Ratings B+, and Fitch AA. Some of our medical carrier partners include BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, and Baylor Scott and White. Some of our Ancillary carrier partners include MetLife, Mutual of Omaha, Guardian, SunLife, UNUM, Principal, United Concordia, Dental Select, Ameritas, and VSP.

How can I pay my insurance bill?

Paying online directly with the carrier is the fastest. If you need help paying your bill, please give us a call and we can get you to the right person.

Can you quote with multiple insurance companies?

Yes! BKCW has agreements to write business with multiple insurance carriers. Based on the information you provide, we work with the available carriers to determine if they are able to offer you coverage. Our goal is to provide different options for your review so you can determine which carrier and coverages work best for you!

What is the difference between Comprehensive (or other than collision) and Collision coverage?
  • Comprehensive coverage provides coverage for damages outside of your control such as hail, falling objects, hitting an animal, etc.
  • Collision coverage provides coverage to your vehicle after you’ve been in an accident or you hit an object such as a fence or pole.
What is the difference between a Landlord and Homeowners policy?

A homeowners policy is owner-occupied while Landlord policies have tenants residing in the home.

How can I file a claim?

You can call us during normal business hours and we can assist you. If it is after hours, you can call your carrier directly to file over the phone or online.

Should I bundle my home and auto insurance with the same company?

Many of our carriers provide a companion policy discount of up to 20%.

What are some common exclusions from homeowners coverage?

Some common exclusions include, but are not limited to, flood, earthquake, termites/other pests, settling/sinking/subsistence/expanding or contracting, wear/tear, and lack of maintenance.

What is actual cash value?

In the event of a covered loss, this type of coverage pays the depreciated value of the item. The depreciated value means that there is a deductible subtracted for the age and condition of the item.

What is replacement cost?

In the event of a covered loss, this type of coverage pays to repair or replace the item based on the cost today and not the depreciated value. It is replaced with like-kind and quality.
